WELCOME IN THE NAME OF OUR LIVING SAVIOR!

March 7, 2010

We are glad you are with us and pray a blessing on your worship today!  Visitors are asked to sign the Guest Register on the table in the Narthex (entrance) and sign the Welcome Book giving your address and phone number.

Living Savior’s MISSION is to know the love of Christ and serve God so that the Holy Spirit may work through us to bring others to Christ.

Nursery is provided for small children ages 4 and younger during the worship services and Sunday School from 8:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in room #2 in the Educational Wing. Susanna Honeycutt is the attendant.  Please register your children in the nursery so she can get to know them.

Due to the large number of children using the nursery during the 11 a.m. service, we are asking parents to consider volunteering to stay occasionally to help Susanna. Please contact the church office at 703-352-1421 sign-up.

Adult Bible Study, 9:45 a.m. in the sanctuary, led by Rev. Karl Schuler“Christology, Part 1”
This study is designed for people who haven’t studied the Bible in awhile.  If you've made a new year's resolution to learn more about Jesus, but aren't too sure where to begin, this class is for you. We'll be using the Gospel of John to learn about: who Jesus is, what are some of His key teachings, and what He has done for us. Hope to see you there and feel free to bring a friend along to check it out.

Junior Church and Kids Club takes place at the 11 a.m. service.  Children ages 5 - 11 are invited to dismiss from the sanctuary following the Children’s Lesson for devotions and songs.  The children return to their parents following the sermon and prayers.

Spring Clean Up Day, Saturday, March 27th, 9 a.m. - noon or so.  Everyone is welcome and very much encouraged to come help.  Outside, we will do our seasonal replacement of the mulch and sand in the playground and, as part of an Eagle Scout project, some much needed structural improvements will also be made. Inside the church, general cleaning, especially in the kitchen and the long over-due steam cleaning of the folding chairs.  Items needed that would be useful and welcomed: wheelbarrows, work gloves, shovels, rakes, pitchforks and muscles for outside; gloves, sponges, mops, rags, etc. for inside. Also, if you have or could bring a small steam cleaner for upholstery, please contact Doug Engelke, 703-335-1563.

Living Savior would like to expand our prayer life by
increasing the number of people on our prayer chain.

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.”  (Ephesians 6:18)

Paul helped the early church see how important prayer was.  We would like to expand our prayer life by increasing the number of people on our prayer chain. If you would like to be included on the email prayer chain, please call the church office, 703-352-1421, with your name and preferred email address.  You will receive weekly emails with individual prayer requests that are collected in the church office.

Progressive Dinner
Saturday, March 20, 2010
6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Once again the Fellowship Committee will be hosting the Progressive Dinner on Saturday, March 20th.  This has always been a popular activity in the past and this year's promises to be a great time for all who attend.  We will travel from church to home to church for appetizers, dinner, and dessert.  We will be looking for volunteers to host dinner for 4-6 people and co-hosts to assist.  The idea is for the host to be near the church to make the driving easier.  For those who do not wish to host or co-host we ask you bring an appetizer or a dessert to share.
Event Details:
This is an adult event and the first part (appetizers) and the last part (dessert) will be held at the church.  There is no charge for the event.  We ask that you either host, co-host, bring an appetizer or a dessert.

Any questions or to register please contact Aasgeir and Catherine Gangsaas at 703 690-0846 and cagangsaas@yahoo.com.
